Finally Sergeant Davourney went on board the Motto, and in an authoritative manner, ordered the figure to be lowered. Captain Skipworth refused to comply with the request, on the ground that the police had no business to interfere in such matters. Davourney thereupon called several policemen to his assistance, and rushing upon the Captain carried him off to the Police Court.
