sented from the Quarterly Conference of the Westmoreland Circuit, uniting with the Lancaster Circuit. On motion of J. D. Coulling, the Bishop appointed the following committee, to whom was referred the above subject: Messrs. W. A. Smith, D. S. Doggett and J. A. Duncan. Rev. J. E. Edwards submitted a report from the Bible Committee, which was adopted. On motion of Rev. J. E. Edwards, the resolution passed at last Conference, in relation to a Conference Fast and administration of taplains of the Army, (read by J. C. Granberty,) of a most interesting and important character. The report recommends the appointment of twenty additional chaplains for the army, and providing ample support for them and their families. Rev. D. S. Doggett presented a resolution in regard to the appointment of a missionary to the batteries and hospitals around this city. Petersburg and Lynchburg were afterwards included, and the subject then referred to the Committee on Chaplains of the Army
