Bluff to the 25th inst., (Wednesday last) In an order to Major Dunn, Brigade Quartermaster, General Floyd's Adjutant uses the following language, which we extract: Headq's Army of the Kanawha,Mestern and Northwestern Virginia on this road, and it is absolutely necessary to the command of Gen. Floyd and to the cause that he should have reinforcements. The enemy have already appeared before Gen. Wise in large force, Gen. Lee went to his succor with four of Gen. Floyd's regiments, which leaves the letter with a very small force. Hence you see the accessity of rapid reinforcements. P.derness road from Summersville, or the road from Bowyer's ferry on New River. At this point General Floyd is stationed with what of his command is left after the four regiments taken forward by Geneof these attacks of Robencranz. A fine Mississippi regiment, under Col. Russell, and four hundred of Col. Phillips's Legion, of Georgia, reached General Floyd, respectively, Monday and Wednesday.

Southern War news. From our mails of yesterday evening we gather the following: From Floyd's command. The correspondent of the Lynchburg Republican writes from Meadow Bluff, under date of the 19th, as follows: On Monday night our gallant little army fell back from the top of Big Sewell to this place — Meadow Bluff. The order to march was given at eight o'clock, and by ten our tents were stricken baggage packed, teams hitched, and the long train of men, wagons, and horses intofore come from Ohio, and that channel of trade is now entirely cut off. We reached Meadow Bluff safely about 10 o'clock on the morning of the 18th, and, pitching our tents, proceeded at once to prepare for a warm reception of the enemy.--Gen. Floyd is unremitting in his attention to the affairs of his army. He does a vast deal of the labor himself, and leaves as little to his subordinates as possible. He inspects everything, and never leaves for a moment his lines even on the march.

From the West. Positions of Wise and Floyd — rumors — telegraphic communication, etc. Lewisburg, Va., Sept. 23, 1861. is position is a very strong one, commanding all approaches. Gen. Floyd has entrenched himself at Meadow Bluff, 15½ miles West of Lewisbd Mississippi regiment passed through town this afternoon to join Gen. Floyd. It was one thousand strong. The men were fine in spirit. The f stragglers, indicate much more than ordinary discipline. Generals Floyd and Wise, according to common report in town, have both declareure to grasp his supposed prey. Cortainly, he can be sure that Generals Floyd and Wise, and their men, will fight to the last. The last batt become, indeed, a military necessity.
