rgan, John F. Locke, and Sergeant John Kennedy, these four, brought up in Salisbury (N. C.) prison, and were paroled in March, 1865. In this fight John S. Roberts and William M. Herbon were killed, and the following wounded: Chandler G. Cole, Dexter Gray, George R. Harlow, and Lieutenant John H. Dusseault. By this time only seven or eight men were left in Company E out of the original one hundred and one men who enlisted from Somerville in 1862. Of course the company had been supplied fromme on five-days' furlough, and deserted June, 1863; from Nova Scotia. Grant, Edward L., on detached service from September 13, 1863, to May 20, 1865, Ordnance Department; mustered out June 2, 1865; lives at 177 Washington Street, Somerville. Gray, Dexter, wounded August 18, 1864; discharged May 17, 1865; died some twenty years ago. Hadley, Eugene B., killed in battle February 6, 1865. Hale, Edward M., went out as second sergeant; on detached service, April 6, 1864; mustered out June
