Captain R. C. Kise, Assistant Adjutant-General, of Gen. Manson's staff, and the writer, were dispatched to meet the flag of truce, when the letter of Gen. Crittenden, asking the return of Gen. Zollicoffer's remains, was presented. General Manson replied to the request in this letter: "Gen. Gro. B. Crittenden:Sir: Your note of the 25th inst., accompanying a flag of truce, has been received.
