inished business of yesterday, viz: The bill authorizing the civil authorities of the Commonwealth to render aid in arresting deserters from military service, was taken up and laid on the table. House joint resolution for the election of certain State officials on the 6th of March, was taken up and agreed to. Bills reported. Bill authorizing the Auditor of Public Accounts to suspend the institution of legal proceedings against Sheriffs in certain counties; for the relief of John H. Haskins, Sheriff of Amelia, and his sureties. The bill to authorize certain cities and towns to issue small notes was taken up, on motion of Mr. Robertson, and pending the consideration of the same, the hour of 8 o'clock arrived, and the chair was vacated until 7½ o'clock.
