Newell, Robert Henry 1836-
Humorist; born in New York City, Dec. 13, 1836; was connected with the New York Mercury, New York World, etc., for many years.
He was best known under the nom de plume Orpheus C. Kerr, under which name he published a large number of humorous letters on the Civil War. He died in Brooklyn, N. Y., early in July, 1901, his body being found some days after his death.
