ndexter, a gallant officer of the 14th Virginia regiment, formerly a member of the bar of this city, died on Tuesday last from wounds received by a shell during the slege of Suffolk last summer by Gen. Longstreet. The funeral of Lieutenant Colonel Edmund Kirby, who was killed at Chickamauga, took place yesterday afternoon from Rev. Dr. Moore's Church. Col. Kirby was a resident of this city. Young, brave, of fine intellect, and with a noble disposition, he was a great favorite in the armytreet.
