Kirkwood, it will be seen that some of the Confederate guerrillas are attempting mischief in Iowa. Athens is on the Des Moines river, near Keokuk: Clinton, Lowa, ordered out all the convalescents at the hospitals (in Keokuk) and citizens. They leave for the scene of expected battle by special train this 10 P. M. Gov. Kirkwood responded as follows: Washington, July 16, 1862. --Support Capt. Hall with all the force necessary.
