Reports from "contrabands." The New York Herald, of the 2d inst., has a letter from Newport News, from which we extract the following: Runaway slaves continue to come in to our camp almost every day. On Friday three boys belonging to Robert Saunders, a large farmer living on the Yorktown and Williamsburg road, made their escape from Mulberry Island, where they had secreted themselves for over two months. They state, as their reason for running away, that one of their comrades, who had been twice guilty of the crime of visiting his wife on Sunday, had been shot dead, and that they themselves had each received 50 lashes for breaking the laws once.
