Called meeting of the Council. --A meeting of the City Council was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. Saunders, Walber, Hill, Richardson, Denoon, Clopton, Epps, and Burr. The President announced the death of M. L. Stratton, long an officer of the city, and late First Auditor. Stratton, whose long services in the employment of the city, first as Register of the City Water Works, elected to that office for a number of years by the almost unanimous voice of the citizens, and for the past five years as Auditor, elected by the unanimous vote of the Council, whose fidelity in the discharge of the duties of his office, and unassuming manners and accommodating spirit in which those duties have been discharged, have endeared him to every member of the Council. Therefore,
