No further progress was made in the examination, and the case was therefore continued for ten days longer. Joseph and Rachel Leinburg, white, charged with stealing three pairs of shoes from Jacob Huffman, were discharged. The shoes were, however, surrendered to Huffman. Julia, slave of Sarah Gamble, charged with using insulting and provoking language towards Reuben T. Seal and William S. Jenkins, officers of the day police, was ordered to be whipped. The Mayor desires attention to be called to the change of hour of meeting of the court. It will hereafter assemble at 9 o'clock instead of 10.
