Gov. Morton, of Indiana, has appointed ex-Governor Joseph A. Wright U. S. Senator, to fill the place of the Hon. Jesse D. Bright. Lucius M. Lamar has been appointed Col. of the 8th Georgia regiment, J. R. Towers, Lieutenant Colonel, and E. J. Magruder, Major.
