Mayor's Court.
--On Saturday His Honor, the Mayor, had the following cases before him;
John Pisledd, a butcher in the Second Market, was charged with having in his possession four cows which were stolen from Dr Francis H Deane.
The Commonwealth not being prepared to go into an examination, His Honor continued the case till this morning.
Mr Sledd claims that on Saturday morning a man calling himself Smith sold him the cows for $3,500, and a short while after he had made the purchase and paid over a portion of the money, Dr Deane came up and claimed them as his property, which had been stolen some time since.
Mr S.'s statement is fully confirmed by the gentleman who weighed the cows, as well as Messrs Alberger & Wayne, also butchers in the market, who were witnesses to the transaction.
Alfred Meyer, alias Trowbar, Goldsmith and Swatza, charged with stealing a lot of leather, valued at $125, from Joseph R. Anderson & Co., was remanded for indictment by the Grand Jury o
