Southern Baptist Convention. --This body convened in Augusta, Geo., Saturday morning at nine o'clock. The proceedings are thus detailed by the Chronicle: Rev. A. M. Poindexter, of Va., one of the Corresponding Secretaries of the Foreign Missionary Board at Richmond, read the annexed report of the Board for the past two years.--The report is a long, but interesting document. Some brief accounts have been received from the missionaries in China and Africa.--Through a committee in Baltimore, and by the shipment of cotton, the Board has succeeded in forwarding some funds to the missionaries. Several of the missionaries abroad have died. Two who sailed from Japan have never been heard from. The vessel was no doubt lost at sea. In some of the missions a good degree of success has been secured. According to the order of the day, at 10½ o'clock a half hour was spent in devotional exercises in reference to the existing war.--The exercises were conducted by Dr. Manly, of Al
