Prince Napoleon and his Mission to America.
Napoleon, Joseph Charles Paul, now on a visit in Washington, is a son of the late exkink Jerome and Frederica Catharina, princess of Wurtemberg.
He was born on the 9th of September, 1822, at Trieste, on the Adriatic, and passed his early years in Italy, where his parents, after the downfall of the old Napoleon, resided, the father under the title of Count of Montfort.
Banished with all the Bonapartes in 1831, in consequence of a revolutionary movement of the Romagna, (Papal States,) the young prince, yet a mere boy, would have already become a political refuges had not the ambassador of Russia at Rome intervened in his favor.
In 1837 the Prince entered the service of the army of his mother's next relative, the king of Wurtemberg, but preferring travelling to drilling, no visited many countries, and obtained in 1845, from Louis Philippe, the permission to re-enter France, and to stay a few week
