Woman's devotion to our cause. Manassas Junction Aug. 8. To the Editors of the Dispatch:
--Permit me to give through the columns of your paper some notice of a very deserving lady who is indeed another Florence Nightingale.
She is a Mrs. Maggie Haley, and a refuges from the District of Columbia.
She was one of, if not the very first to volunteer her services; but she could not get out of the enemy's lines for some time after her first offer.
Even when she did get away from them and entered upon her noble duty at the Smith Hospital in Culpeper C. H., she was still the leader, so I hear, in that path of usefulness that has now become, through the examples of such as her, so very fashionable.
There are several other good ladies at that Hospital, I am told; but it is only of Mrs. Haley I am able to speak, because a friend of mine who was under her care speaks only of her, except to say he has no doubt that the other ladies are as good as she is,--only that if he is not mi
