ectably attended, and evidently determined in its purpose to alleviate the privations of those who have been so suddenly, if not unexpectedly, deprived of the comforts of home. The meeting was presided over by Dr. B. R. Wellford, and Mr. James B Sener acted as Secretary. Mr. Wm. S. Gilman briefly explained the object of the meeting, and moved the appointment of a committee of ten to solicit contributions in aid of the needy refugees.
