The narrative of the capture of the United States steamer Ariel by the Confederate States steamer Alabama, published in the Northern papers, is quite interesting. As the passengers of the Ariel were seated at dinner on Sunday, Dec. 7th, Capt. Jenes was informed that a war steamer was bearing down upon them, and, although he made light of the fact, still he left the dinner table and ascended to the deck.
