The Provost Marshal of Serlin in the old Capitol. --For some time frequent complaints have been made that those in charge of the Government ferry at Berlin, Maryland, were prostituting their position to line their pockets with the funds of those who desired to cross the Potomac, either with a good or bad purpose. Colonel Baker, Provost Marshal of the War Department, took the matter in hand, and on Friday arrested Captain Samuel Ford, Provost Marshal of Berlin, and Lt. G. W. Benjamin, his assistant, and also Mrs. Frances Able, a Government detective, employed by the military authorities at Baltimore. The officers are charged with selling passes to all who were able to purchase and of requiring a liberal division or the funds of persons coming North or going South.--We understand that they were confronted in this city by a couple of ladies who were forced to divide. They were sent to the old Capitol. Mrs. Able was rent to Berlin to aid the Government by searching females cr
