Upon the of this communication, Mr. Barr submitted the following resolution, which was adopted. Resolved, That a committee of three be appointed to colder with the Husting Court and report to the Council what action is advisable in relation to the increase of salaries to the Attorney for the Commonwealth, Sergeant and Clerk of paid court. Committee Messrs. Scott, Clopton and Denoon. A resolution, offered by Mr. Scott, authorizing the Committee on the Fire Department, if they think proper, to employ an engineer and fireman to take charge of the steam fire engine on Tenth street, was adopted. The Committee on Streets were authorized to increase the salary of the Assistant Engineer in the same proportion as the other city officers. The Council, after some other unimportant business, adjourned.
