Confederate Congress, Senate. Monday, January 9, 1865. The Senate met at 12 o'clock M. Prayer by the Rev. Dr. Norwood, of the Episcopal Church. Mr. Watson, of Mississippi, offered a resolution, which was laid on the table and ordered to be printed, that, the House of Representatives concurring, a joint committee of both Houses should be appointed to investigate and report upon the condition of the prisoners of war held by the Confederate and United States authorities; and, also, to report on the causes of the stoppage of the exchange of prisoners. Mr. Sparrow, from the Military Committee, reported a bill to provide for the re-organization of companies, battalions and regiments in certain cases. Placed on the calendar and ordered to be printed.
