Messenger has the subjoined remarks concerning this distinguished gentleman, who is well known to the whole country, and especially to the Richmond people: "We learn with sincere pleasure that this respected gentleman, has assumed the duties of the Presidency of Howard College, at Marion. Alabama. "As a citizen, Mr. Curry has ever stood high in his community. As a member of Congress, and in all his public career as a politician, he was able, incorruptible and patriotic. And now, as a minister of the Gospel and an instructor of youth, we may expect to see his brilliant talents and eminent virtues employed more directly than before in the service of his country.
