South Carolina (South Carolina, United States) (search for this): article 12
Concert. --The Torriani Musical Amateurs, of South Carolina, will commence a series of entertainments at the African Church on Monday night next. The company, we are informed, possesses first-rate musical talent, and we feel assured that our citizens will derive as much enjoyment from attending the concerts as they ever experienced in listening to imported vocalists, who came heralded by glaring advertisements and flaming posters. An additional incentive is the object which the Amateurs have in view. All the profits are to be devoted to the patriotic purpose of raising a fund for the relief of the soldiers, which will, we doubt not, be generously seconded by all who have at heart the cause of their country.
