It was stated that the recent movement of the United States gunboat Tuscarora had been merely for the purpose of dodging the British steamer Ajax, in order to obtain coal.

The Dublin correspondent of the London Times writes, on the 21st of August, as follows:
"The Federal gunboat Tuscarora, it appears, has been dodging the Ajax, for the purpose of getting coals on board, in defiance of the orders issued by the Admiralty.
The Tuscarora has coaled within three months at a British port, and did not proceed, as she was bound to do, on a voyage to the United States.
She remained hovering about the coast, on the lookout for Confederate vessels.
