A.contract for the execution of work, opp. ἐργοδοτέω, CIG3467.24（Sardes) (also in Med., Polyaen.6.51): c. acc., “ἐ. ἀνδριάντας” X.Mem.3.1.2, cf. Philoch.97 ; “τὸ ἱερὸν ἢ δαμόσιον ἔργον” SIG2940.7 (Cos, i B. C.); “τὸ ἰατρικὸν ἔργον” BCH25.235 (Amphissa); “τὸ μακρὸν τεῖχος” Plu.Per.13 : c. inf., SIG2588.220 (Delos, ii B.C.), IG12(8).640.6 (Peparethus, ii B.C.).
