ἀποχράω

I.to suffice, be sufficient, be enough: absol., in persons other than 3rd sg., δύ᾽ ἀποχρήσουσιν μόνω Ar.; c. inf., ἀποχρέουσι ἑκατὸν νέες χειρώσασθαι are sufficient to subdue, Hdt.
II.mostly in 3 sing:
1.to suffice, ποταμὸς οὐκ ἀπέχρησε τῆι στρατιῆι πινόμενος was not enough to supply the army with drink, id=Hdt.; ταῦτα ἀποχρᾶι μοι id=Hdt., attic
2.impers., c. inf., ἀποχρᾶι μοι ποιεῖν 'tis sufficient for me to do, Hdt., ; c. part., μέρος ἐχούσηι ἀπόχρη μοι 'tis sufficient for me to have a part, Aesch.;—and without inf., ἀπόχρη τινι it is enough for him, Dem.
III.Pass. to be contented with a thing, c. dat., Hdt.
2.impers., οὐκ ἀπεχρᾶτο id=Hdt.; ἀπεχρέετο, c. inf., id=Hdt.
2.to abuse, misuse, Lat. abuti, c. dat., Dem.
II.c. acc. to use up, destroy, Thuc.
