ANAXAGOREIA

ANAXAGOREIA (ἀναχαγόρεια), a day of recreation for the youths at Lampsacus, which took place once every year, in compliance with a wish expressed by Anaxagoras, who, after being expelled from Athens, spent the remainder of his life there. This continued to be observed even in the time of Diogenes Laërtius (Anaxag. 100.10).
