جَانِحَةٌ جانح جانحه جانحة sing. of جَوَانِحُ; (S, K;) which latter signifies The ribs of the breast: (A:) or the ribs that are beneath [those called] the تَرَائِب, of the part next the breast; (S, K;) like the ضُلُوع of the part next the back: (S:) or the anterior parts of those ribs; so called because they incline over the heart: or the short ribs that are in the anterior part of the breast: or, of a camel and a horse and the like, the ribs against which lies the shoulder-blade: and of a man, the ribs of the back which are called دَأْى, six in number, three on the right and three on the left.
