مَجْزُوْءٌ مجز مجزوء Divided into parts, or portions. (TA.) ― -b2- [Having a part, or portion, taken from it: see 1.] ― -b3- A verse curtailed of two [of the original] feet: [like the هَزَج and مُضَارِع &c., which were originally of six feet each, but of which every known example is of four only:] or a verse consisting of two feet only: [as a kind of the رَجَز, and two kinds of the مُنْسَرِح: to each of which, or, accord. to some, to the former of which only, when thus consisting of only two feet, the term مَنْهُوكٌ is also applied:] the former is said to be عَلَى السَّلْبِ; and the latter, عَلَى الوُجُوبِ.
