D. SIMONIUS PROCULUS IULIANUS, DOMUS

He was praefectus urbi before 254 A.D. (Pros. iii. 248. 529; cf. Museo Italiano iii. 55). A lead pipe bearing his name was found south-west of the Casino dell' Aurora of the Villa Ludovisi (CIL xv. 7528; LF 9; cf. BC 1887, 102; NS 1887, 109), and the sepulchral inscription of one of his dependants (alumnus) on the via Salaria (Mitt. 1906, 88; CIL vi. 38271).
