βωμόλοχ-ος , ον, (λοχάω) prop.
A.one that waited about the altars, to beg or steal some of the meat offered thereon, “ἵνα μὴ πρὸς τοῖσι βωμοῖς ἀεὶ λοχῶντες βωμολόχοι καλώμεθα” Pherecr.141; “β. ἱερεῖς” Man.5.119; expld. by ἱερόσυλος, Hsch., Et.Gud.
