A.woman's head-dress or veil, a kind of mantilla, κ. ὅ ῥά οἱ (sc. Ἀνδρομάχῃ）“ δῶκε χρυσέη Ἀφροδίτη” Il.22.470; “κρηδέμνῳ δ᾽ ἐφύπερθε καλύψατο δῖα θεάων” 14.184: pl., [“Πηνελόπεια] ἄντα παρειάων σχομένη λιπαρὰ κ.” Od.1.334; “δμῳαί τε καὶ αὐτή, . . ἀπὸ κ. βαλοῦσαι” 6.100, cf. E.Ph.1490 (lyr.).
