A.filling up, filling, “πληρώσεσι καὶ κενώσεσι” Pl.Phlb.42c; esp. with people, “κληρώσεις δικαστηρίων καὶ π.” Id.Lg.956e; π. τῆς νεώς manning the ship, CIG2501 (Cos, i B. C.).
2. sensual satisfaction, gratification, esp. of eating and drinking, “τὸ πίνειν π. τῆς ἐνδείας” Pl.Grg.496e; ἐκπορίζεσθαι ταῖς ἡδοναῖς π. ib.492a; “πληρώσεών τινων καὶ ἡδονῶν” Id.R.439d: as expl. of the origin of pleasure, Id.Phlb.31esq., 35a sq.; of other passions, “θυμοῦ π.” Plu.Lys.19; of the higher aspirations, Plot.5.8.4.
