προηρόσιος , α, ον, (ἄροτος)
A.before the time of tillage: προηροσία (sc. θυσία), , a festival at that time celebrated by Athens for the whole of Greece, Hyp.Fr.75, Lycurg.Fr.87 (-όσια cj. Sauppe), Aristid.1.196J., Lib.Decl.1.179, Sch.Ar.Pl.1055, Phot., etc.: also προηρόσια (sc. θύματα or ἱερά), τά, IG22.1029.16, Hsch., Suid. s.v. εἰρεσιώνη (gen. pl. -ιων in ambiguous in IG22.1363.6): sg. προηγορ-όσιον Sch.Ar.Eq.725: cf. πληροσία, πρηροσία.
