Recepta; Actio de Recepto
An action against the master of a ship, an innkeeper, or the keeper of a livery-stable
(
stabularius) for the recovery of property intrusted to him. These
persons were liable for the value of such property even though no neglect or
dolus malus could be proven against them ( Pompon. in
Dig. xiv. 1, 3,
1).
