Recepta; Actio de Recepto

An action against the master of a ship, an innkeeper, or the keeper of a livery-stable (stabularius) for the recovery of property intrusted to him. These persons were liable for the value of such property even though no neglect or dolus malus could be proven against them ( Pompon. in Dig. xiv. 1, 3, 1).
