（τὰ Τέντυρα). Now Denderah; a city of Upper Egypt, on the western bank of the Nile, between Abydos and Coptos, with celebrated temples of Hathor (the Egyptian Aphrodité), Isis, and Typhon (Ptol.iv. 5, 6). There are still magnificent remains of the temples of Hathor and of Isis: in the latter was found the celebrated Zodiac, which is now preserved at Paris.
