Lo'xias

*Loci/as), a surname of Apollo, which is derived by some from his intricate and ambiguous oracles (λοξα), but it is unquestionably connected with the verb Λέγειν, and describes the god as the prophet or interpreter of Zeus. (Hdt. 1.91, 8.136; Aeschyl. Eum. 19; Aristoph. Pl. 8; Eustath. ad Hom. p. 794; Macr. 1.17.)
