Phorus

*Fu/bos), Latin Metus, the personification of fear, is described as a son of Ares and Cvthereia, a brother of Deimos, and is one of the ordinary companions of Ares. (Hom. Il. 11.37, 13.299, 15.119; Hes. Hes. Th. 934.) Phobus was represented on the shield of Agamemnon, on the chest of Cypsellls, with the head of a lion. (Paus. 5.19.1.)
