Seve'rus

2. The author of a short Greek medical treatise. He is called by the title of Iatrosophista, and from some of the words he uses (e. g. ἀσκληπιασμός) may be supposed to have lived in the sixth or seventh century after Christ.

In the article on Soranus, we find: "at this present time (1848)" and this date seems to reflect the dates of works cited. 1873 - probably the printing date.
