Felonious assault

--The negro fellow Lewis Pleasants, who was arrested and caged on Saturday last for striking with a brick and nearly killing John Shields, a child about six years old, was examined before the Mayor yesterday, and remanded for final trial at the next term of the Hustings Court. The assault on the child was entirely unprovoked, and will doubtless be punished as it deserves.
