Serviceable guns.

--The rifle cannon of the Howitzer corps were subjected to a trial yesterday, near the Tredegar Works, and proved to be the very guns for service.

The large brass field-piece lately cast at the Tredegar Works, is, we believe, the first cannon ever made of that metal in the South.--Experiments had been made in various localities, but none succeeded until the present, which resulted in the production of a formidable and serviceable piece of ordnance.
