The Legislature.

The Senate yesterday appointed a Committee of Conference with the House in reference to a disagreement by that body to certain Senate amendments to the bill concerning the militia. Bills were passed authorizing the Treasurer to destroy certain Bank notes now in his pos- session, and such as may be received in future; and authorizing the Petersburg Railroad Com- pany to increase its capital stock. The Committee of Courts of Justice were instructed to inquire into the expediency of reporting a bill prohibiting the game of Keno. The tax bill, of which Keno formed a part, was debated.

The House laid on the table the bill incorporating the American Agency, and passed a number of Senate bills. The bill for the rechartering of the Bank of Virginia, and other monied institutions, was made the order of the day for to-day at 12 o'clock. A Committee of Conference with the Senate was appointed on the militia bill.
