Warm reception.

--At a very early hour on Saturday morning last a resident of Union Hill, on hearing a noise in a neighbor's hen house, arose from his bed, dressed himself, and, pistol in hand, went out to ascertain what was going on. Just as he got to the gate he discovered a negro scaling a fence, heavily loaded with chickens, and hailed him. Finding himself discovered, the thief dropped the poultry and broke like a quarter horse closely pursued by the discoverer, who fired at him repeatedly as he ran, but without effect.
