The sick at Healing Springs! help!

Editors Dispatch: There are two hundred and seventy-five patients in this hospital, and not a sheet or a pillow to make their beds decent and comfortable, The winter has set in with severity, and unless something is done for the sufferers, many a soldier will die in the wards before warm weather returns. It is useless to dwell upon the reasons of previous neglect. It is sufficient now to know of its existence, and that each reader of this article may do something for its relief. The proprietor has kindly left the bedsteads and bedding in the rooms, but all articles of bed clothing are sadly needed. The proprietress has done much for the sick; and under the laborious and skillful Surgeon of the post, but few of nearly six hundred patients received since its opening have died; but they will die if not properly cared for during the coming season.

It is with the Surgeon's consent and approval that the undersigned is acting. He is not a Government official, but the soldier's friend, and feels assured that this call will be answered by every one who has a heart to feel. Let individuals and societies respond at once. Anything sent to his address, on the Virginia Central railroad, to Millboro depot, will be thankfully received and promptly attended to. His Post-Office is ‘"Healing Springs, "’ Va.
