Mysterious disappearance.

--A correspondent from Grayson county, writing us under date of the 21st inst., states that Robert P. Baker, Sheriff of the county, left home about the 20th December to visit Richmond, for the purpose of paying in the revenue of the county, and has not been heard from since he left Wytheville; nor has the revenue been paid in according to information received from the Auditor on the State. Much conjecture is indulged in by the people of the county as to the cause of his mysterious disappearance.--Lynchburg Rep. 23d
