Mayor's Court, Monday, March 2.
--James Folks and
James Williams, fighting in the street, were required to give security for their good behavior.
Thomas Dillashaw, charged with stealing an overcoat from
George W. Davis, was committed for further examination.
Henry Cary was required to give security for breaking off the door knob of
Dr. E. Powell's office.
Richard Morris, charged with stealing one Breastpin one overcoat, one black cap, one white hat, two pairs of shoes, and one plate, the whole valued at $945 was sent on for further examination.
Robert W. Ashley, charged with being very disorderly in the street, was required to give security for his good behavior.
Rufus F. Anderson, charged with drunkenness and disorderly conduct in the Theatre, was fined a dollar.
Moses, slave of
J. R. Anderson, was ordered five lashes for smoking a cigar in the street.
Mackenzie, slave of
Geo. Hutton, and
Harrison, slave of
Dr. Mingo, were whipped for going without passes, as prescribed by law.
Francis M. Augell was committed for further examine on on the charge of being a substitute agent, and getting money under false pretences.
Toby, slave of
Talbott &Bro., was whipped for stealing a watch worth $40 from
Mrs. Berths Wagner.
Smith slave of
Capt. Meade, found without a pass, and with a lot of rice supposed to have been stolen, was ordered to be punished.
Benjamin, slave of
Shirley Harrison, found without a pass and supposed to be a runaway, was committed to await the call of his owner.
Jos. H. Hackett was fined $1 for assaulting
Jno. W. Sherris, on Main street.
