Volunteering in Georgia for home defence.

--The volunteering in Georgia for home defence is progressing with great rapidity. The quota of troops required of Cobb county for local defence, under the Governor's call, has been filled, and a movement is on foot to raise a battalion. Banks county, says the Athens Banner, whose quota was 80 men, has raised 125. Lumpkin county, whose quota was 80 men, has raised 227. At a meeting in Atlanta, on Wednesday, the Confederacy says there were not less than 4,000 people who made their appearance, 2800 of whom were in line. Old men of 70 and boys of 14 or 15 were there, all ready to do or die.
