Mayor's Court.

--The Mayor's docket yesterday morning was large; but the cases embraced in it were fairly examined and promptly disposed of. We present the following summary:

Lucy and Ann Tonget, were examined on the charge of stealing from Branch Jackson, slave of Thomas Bass, one trunk, containing $450 in money, five pairs of pants, six shirts, one pair or boots, two vests, and one hat, found guilty, and sent on to the Hustings Court to be further examined.

A negro man, named James Butler, was remanded to the Hustings Court, on the charge of stealing from John W. Dorsey sundry articles of wearing apparel and jewelry, valued at $800, and resisting the officers who made his arrest.

The charge preferred against Peter, slave of N. M. Lee, and William, slave of N. M. Norfleet, of stealing two boxes of tobacco and one bag of meal, valued at $400, from N. M. Lee, was examined into, and the evidence sustaining the accusation, they were remanded for trial before the Hustings Court.

A white man, named D. Baccigaluppi, was sent on to the Hustings Court, after an examination upon the charge of receiving two boxes of tobacco and one bag of meal, worth $400, knowing it to have been stolen.

Martha Harris, a free negro, was ordered twenty-five lashes for entering the house of Charles Palmer, with the intent of committing a larceny. The counsel in this case asked for an appeal from His Honor's decision, which was granted.

The charge preferred against Jack, the property of Chas. A. Rose, of stealing an overcoat from another negro, was not sustained by the testimony, whereupon the accused was dismissed.

Wm. H. Wales, a member of Parker's battery, arraigned on the charge of attempting to obtain three pairs of pants under false pretences from Myer Kraker, was examined, and the evidence falling to substantiate the complaint, he was promptly discharged.

The examination of the charge against Emily, slave of B. F. Thomas, of being in the employ of Wm. H. Duke, at his faro bank, was postponed till to-morrow morning.

Complaint was brought against Ann Mallard, a white woman, of stealing a shawl from Ella McDonald, at a party on 10th street, some nights since. After an examination of witnesses, the Mayor discharged her for want of evidence to prove her guilt.

Jim, a slave of James Walton, was examined upon the charge of stealing a lot of brandy, flour, sugar, butter, &c., valued at about $3,000, from James B. Hays, a grocer, some days ago. There being nothing in the testimony to convict him of the theft, he was discharged.

Owney Burk was fined $5 for permitting a nuisance to remain on her premises.

A fine of $5 was imposed upon Peter Daly for striking with a stick a negro boy belonging to Turpin & Yarbrough, on Tuesday morning last. Daly did not like the idea of being fined for such an offence, and gave the Mayor to understand that he would permit no negro to give him insolence without administering to him a little taste of the shillalah.
