Earnings of Seamstresses.

--Army drawers are given out by contractors to be made in Portland, Maine at five cents a pair. A woman sewing all day could not make more than two pairs a day. If the thread given out with the drawers fall short, as it is apt to do, the poor seamstress is told that she must supply the deficiency.
